Glass Options
ModernView Windows & Doors offers a variety of glass options designed to enhance the performance, aesthetics, and security of their exterior doors, including storm and patio-sliding styles. These options are crafted to meet diverse homeowner needs, from energy efficiency to privacy and UV protection.
Standard Glass: All ModernView exterior doors come with a standard glass option, typically a clear, tempered glass. This provides a balance of natural light and visibility. The tempered nature of the glass ensures enhanced safety, as it breaks into small, blunt pieces if fractured, reducing the risk of injury.
Low-E Glass: For improved energy efficiency, ModernView offers Low-E (low-emissivity) glass. This advanced coating is microscopically thin and is applied to the glass surface. It reflects radiant heat, keeping homes cooler in the summer by preventing solar heat gain and warmer in the winter by reducing heat loss from inside. This can lead to significant savings on heating and cooling bills and contribute to a more comfortable indoor environment.
Argon Gas Fill: In conjunction with Low-E glass, ModernView can fill the space between the glass panes with Argon gas. Argon is a noble gas that is denser than air and an excellent insulator. When used in a double or triple-pane window system, it further enhances the thermal performance by slowing down heat transfer, complementing the benefits of Low-E coatings.
Obscure/Privacy Glass: For areas where privacy is a concern, such as bathrooms or entryways, ModernView provides obscure or privacy glass options. These glass types are designed to diffuse light and obscure clear views while still allowing natural light to enter. This can include frosted, patterned, or textured glass finishes.
Decorative Glass: ModernView also offers decorative glass inserts for their exterior doors. These options can add a unique architectural element and personalize the appearance of the entryway. Decorative glass can range from etched designs to beveled or stained-glass-inspired patterns, allowing homeowners to create a distinctive look.
Impact-Resistant Glass: For regions prone to severe weather, such as hurricanes or high winds, ModernView provides impact-resistant glass options. This specialized glass is designed to withstand extreme conditions, offering superior protection against forced entry and damage from flying debris. This is achieved through a multi-layer system that bonds a strong interlayer between panes of glass.
Tinted Glass: Tinted glass is available to reduce glare and solar heat gain, offering an additional layer of comfort and UV protection. The tint is applied uniformly across the glass, providing a subtle aesthetic and functional benefit by reducing the intensity of direct sunlight entering the home.
